i was trying to sleep every night, but i keep waking up in a middle of a night hearing the train blow their horn and it's really disturbing....why do they have to blow it?
Why does the train have to blow their horn in a middle of a night?
Locomotive Engineers are required by Federal law to sound a audible warning of two long, one short, and one long blast on the horn approaching grade crossings at all times except where there is a rule 14L exception and even then it is at their discretion.
Its for the public's good, and the railroad's liability..
Reply:Required by law to signal when approaching certain intersections ...
Reply:Safety reasons.....they still MUST blow the horn before all crossings even though it is in the middle of the night....Trains conduct business 24/7...So the same rules that apply to day time goes the same for night.
Reply:its mandantory when nearing a road crossing......
Reply:to keep deers and other things off the tracks at night
Reply:to wake you up
Reply:Safety comes ahead of your sleep patterns...
Reply:Its to alert others to its presence.
