Do Antelope shed their horns like deer do?

African antelopes have horns that do not shed. In America the Pronghorn antelope sheds the out covering to its 'horn'.

Do Antelope shed their horns like deer do?
i think they do and once the antlers haved sheded they grow bigger and stronger ones.
Reply:Deer, Moose, Carriboe, and elk have antlers and they shed them. Antelopes have horns which do not shed.
Reply:No, this is one of the main differences between Bovidae (antelope, cattle, sheep, etc.) and Cervidae (deer). Deer have antlers, which are shed and regrown each year, getting larger each time. Bovids have horns, which are permanent structures. Both male and female bovids can have horns (though not all species do), but the only deer in which the female as well as the male has antlers is the reindeer.
Reply:Horns do not shed, only antlers do. So for antelopes with horns, they do not shed them.
