Van Horn is retired How can he be traded? Is a retired player eligible to be part of a trade in all team sports?
Regarding the Jason Kidd trade today how can it be considered legal if Keith Van Horn is part of the deal?
I believe he had to sign a contract with Dallas in order to be traded. I doubt it would happen in other sports as it was just a way to make the salaries work with NBA trade rules. This isn't the first time its happened.
