Why do some buses have that squeaky horn thing?

It's not the conventional horn, it's a type of high-pitched horn noise. I've only ever seen it being used to copy the wolf-whistle noise when they drive past a beautiful woman, or when they drive past each other!

Why do some buses have that squeaky horn thing?
In London you would be referring to the emergency alarm. Drivers do tend to use it when they want say hello to their mate going the other way (or to an attractive woman!)
Reply:The squeaky horn catches more attention therefore increasing the chance to avoid accident.
Reply:It is commonly called the Air Horn. It is illegal in many countries as it contribute to noise pollution in a really congested city if everybody start using it.

It is not really needed in daily use as the normal horn is more than enoguh to do the warning job!

These drivers need to be educated
Reply:I don't think it's a squeaky horn - I think it's some sort of alarm system on the bus, %26amp; they're playing with it a little to attract the attention of the girls or other drivers. It's certainly not the horn - that's makes a lot louder %26amp; deeper sound.
