How do you keep ducks out of the backyard when you live on the lake?

How do you keep ducks out of the backyard when you live on the lake?
I've had a few pet ducks for years, and they LOVE to eat. If your yard has lots to eat, the ducks will visit. A fence might help, but then again, ducks can fly over it. Ducks love to eat grass, so if you have a lawn, you might consider replacing it with ground cover instead, scented ground cover such as thyme.

If you own a dog, allowing it outside might help, but then you'll have a crazy, barking dog. If the ducks are just waddling into your yard, rather than flying, and have plenty of green stuff to eat that is NOT in your yard, laying down a swath of pokey, sharp stuff might help. Sharp plants, thorny bushes and such.

Another possibility is to buy a fake predatory bird and place it about 8 feet off the ground. Try to move it daily.

If you make your yard unappealing to ducks, they'll happily avoid it.
Reply:try a low voltage electric fence
Reply:It depends on how many ducks you have. It will take approximately one week for each duck. That is based on duck a l'orange. If you have more duck recipies you can shorten the time by eating duck more than once a week. Otherwise about the only way is to have a lot of freezer space.
Reply:have an active, playful , friendy dog in the back were the ducks are
