How do goats grow horns ? where do the y come from?and why?

Goats grow horns the same way that you grow hair or nails.

As for why, many evolutionary theorists would agree that male goats engage in mating 'competitions' and generally the male with the biggest, meanest horns wins and gets to mate with a group of females.

Therefore, throughout millions of years, if the goats with the biggest horns get to mate, then their genes will prosper and spread, repeating the cycle.

theyre like nails for them, just a bunch of dead skin cells
Reply:They grow horns as other ruminants do. Growth of horns is governed by certain genes. I f a species of goats have this gene they will grow horns other wise not unless being crossed with others.
