How do I raise a rams horn snail?

I have a snail and today I broke it's shell it bled for a little bit but it seems ok it's moving around and obviously looks different but seems to be doing ok i had the tank set up for newts and realized later that the snail was in there, i got rid of the newts but I would like to set up my tank so it's more suitable for the snail. Do I need the filter, live plants, rocks or soil that kind of stuff??? also if anyone knows about the parasite they are supposed to be carrying or could potentially get, that is harmful to humans as well, information about that would be greatly appreciated too, thanks!

You need a lot of live plants, hiding place, caves etc, and yes you do need a filter. Ramhorn snails do not carry any potentially dangerous parasites.
Reply:Ramshorn snails are particularly fond of watercress. Don't bother getting expensive plants from the store, they'll gobble them right up.
Reply:i filter would be ideal and so would live plants and rocks(not soil) and about the parasite this website is pretty helpful
