umm I need help on a math problem su please help me before Thursday come. Oh and please explain it too.
the problem:
In the back stockroom at the wheel Shop, the number of seats and horns equals the number of wheels. The number of seats and handle bars equals the number of horns. Twice the number of wheels is equal to three times the number of bars. Determine the relationship of horns to seats.
What is the connection of wheel and seat?
seats+horns=wheels
seats+handlebars=horns
2*wheels=3*handlebars
2(seats+horns)=3(horns-seats)
2seats+2horns=3horns-3seats
5seats=horns
There are 5 times as many horns as seats
Reply:no. ofseats =s
no.of horns =h
no. of wheels=w
no. of handels=H
s+h=w - (i)
s+H=h -(ii)
2w=3H -(iii)
from (i) and (iii)
s+h=(3/2)H
s+h=(3/2)(h-s) { from (ii) H=h-s }
this on simplification gives
5s=h
