How to hook up your car horn to your brakes?

As a practical joke we want to wire someones car horn to their brakes, so every time they hit the brakes the horn goes off! Saw it on Employee of the Month movie and thought it was hysterical!!!! Can anyone give us instructons on how to do this. Thanks

How to hook up your car horn to your brakes?
i own a shop, and all you need to do is hook the hot wire off the brake light switch to one side of the horn it will work,,just be sure and let them know what you have done later on,i hope you don't get in no trouble for this, good luck.
Reply:How about drilling a hole in the exhaust and screwing a spark plug into it. Run a wire from sparkplug to the brake lights. When they hit the brakes, fire comes out exhaust.
Reply:You need to use a relay as described above. If you just run a wire from the brake switch to the horn, it will more than likely damage (arc the contacts) the switch from the large current draw.

If you have to ask and no one knows how this works, find something else to do.

BTW, the spark plug thing won't work as described. That is moronic.
Reply:Get a normally open relay(standard relay) connect output from brake switch to terminal 85, connect terminal 86 to a good earth, wire a fused power supply (full time or ign switched) to terminal 30 and connect terminal 87 of relay to horn. thats assuming you have positivly switched horns, otherwise swap the power supply (30) to an earth... there you go, still keen?
Reply:you have to do that via a relay, what is the polarity of the brake, %26amp; polarity of lights,. that is the question.

If you send a negative polarity to a positive wire, the joke will be on your friends wallet.

I'm sure you will no longer be friends after they found out what you did.
