I have a 2000 nissan sentra and my horn has quit working, the padding needs to be replaced?

i hear what you're saying, and i assume the padding and the horn have something in common. Like the padding is something you push on to get the horn to blow. Sounds like the switch is not making contact because of the padding.

Have you checked the fuse first?
Reply:Sorry, That needs to be diagnosed. noone can tell you what is wrong witgh it without checking it. First thing that you do is check the fuse. if that is good then check the relay. If that is good, You are going to have to find the horn and see if you have power going to it, if you do then you have either a bad horn or the horn is not grounded properly. if you dont have power to the horn then you may have a bad horn pad, poor, or coroded contacts, or just a broken or rotted wire someplace.

Sorry to say but I cant tell you what it is unless I have car in front of me. Best of luck!
Reply:my sentra did that, you should wait it out and it will come back.
