Depends where you live at. Some states have laws against aux. horns. Some states have laws governing the use of horns, meaning unless you ar blowing your horn to warn a driver of another vehicle you could get a citation.

Reply:You actually have two considerations here... first of all, is the horn legal, and second of all, can you legally blow the horn for no reason? You may have a law similar to Wisconsin:





347.38(1) no person shall at any time use a horn otherwise than as a reasonable warning or make any unnecessary or unreasonably loud or harsh sound by means of a horn or other warning device.

Reply:They are illegal here in the UK %26amp; have been since the 60's when they were very popular!


You can still fit one but if you get caught using it you will be nicked!

Reply:Sirens and honk, are all subject of traffic laws. The horn you heard probably illegal.. Tri-tones illegal, and Ambulance, Fire brigade, Police sirens may only be used when the car also has its alarm-lights on. Netherlands will not be that different from U.K., these are European laws.

Reply:Since 1998, the police have had the power to seize noise making equipment from cars. The use of horns is not allowed after 11.00pm and before 07.00 am.
