Is it legal to own a Rhino horn mount?

I aquired a mount of Rhino horns. Are they legal to own? Sell?

Is it legal to own a Rhino horn mount?
That depends on where you live - specifically what country, and if in the US, possibly what state you live in. In the UK a lot of this sort of stuff is salable if you have some kind of proof that the animal was killed before it became an internationally protected species.

In the US, laws will vary from place to place, but if you are only selling to someone in your own state or to another state you will have far less problems than trying to get it out of the country). For instance, in many US states, you can sell certain animal parts only whithin your own state. Say you have a bengal tiger that died in a zoo, and you want to sell the skull. In many states you can only sell the skull to someone residing in that state, but it cannot cross state lines.

But regardless of where you are, your best and safest bet would be to contact the governing wildlife agency in your country. In the US it is the Fish and Wildlife Department (Federal). For state governments, it is usually the Department of Natural Resources. Either should be able to tell you the legalities of selling and owning a rhino mount.
Reply:You may have to register them with the authorities , otherwise they can be confiscated at any time , and you could get not only a humongous fine , but prison time also .
