Where do you get Chile visitors visa on cruise from Argentina to Chile around Cape Horn?
Visas are not required to enter Chile. Before entering Chile, you will be given a form to fill probably by your cruise operator (if not, forms are available at the port of entry). The form and passport are presented to the custom officer, who on turn will give you a tourist card valid for 90 days (It's just a paper form, but hold on to it as you have to relinquish it when you leave the country). There is no exit fee.

Only passengers with a passport from Australia, Canada, United States or Mexico are required to pay a reciprocity tax on entering the Santiago airport before passing through Customs. Fees are US$56 for Australians, US$132 for Canadians, US$100 for US nationals and US$15 for Mexican passport holders. This tax must be paid in US dollars cash or by credit card and remains valid until the passport expires (for Canadians and Americans) or for three months (for Mexicans and Australians).

I recently traveled to Chile (9/2007) and had to pay the fee upon entering the airport (credit cards were accepted - I paid with a card), but it may no be a requirement if you arrive by land or sea.* I have not been able to verify this yet - but to be on the safe side, have the funds available.

*The Chilean embassy in the USA seems to indicate that all ports of entry charge the fee, other web sites indicate that the fee is charged only when entering by air.
Reply:Most likely ship personnel will provide you with the very short form you need to fill out and you just present it with your passport at whatever customs area where you enter the country, pay the reciprocity fee (about $100) and you will get a form stapled into the back of your passport. It's your receipt and it's good until your passport expires so you don't have to pay that fee again to enter Chile until your passport is renewed. As far as the visitor's visa it's valid for 90 days. Enjoy the cruise!
