Is the brand selman a good brand of french horns?

NO, nO, No~No... Niet! The best thing that can happen with a Selman often does happen... they fall apart. At this point China is not making any good horns. They are very poorly made and the joints tend to start popping pretty quickly. Once that happens, the whole horns starts working itself apart. On top of that most repair people will not work on them, not because they are mean but because they can't keep them fixed or get parts. If a Selman does stay together the valve leak so badly inside that they are very hard to play and have very little center to them. Find a used King or Conn unless you just want a horn to nail to the wall!
